Spark+ is a year-long fitness accountability program. You'll get a series of running and fitness-related challenges. Accomplish them and you'll earn points that can be redeemed for awesome rewards!

How does Spark+ work?
A. SIGN UP
Members sign up on our Spark+ website — $5/month when paid annually or $9/month when paid month-to-month
B. SPARK THE CHALLENGES
You'll have the opportunity to tackle a variety of challenges over the coming year:
- 52 weekly challenges
- 12 monthly challenges
- 4 quarterly challenges
- 2 six-month challenges
- 1 year-long challenge
C. STAY MOTIVATED
Members are motivated and held accountable by the trio of VRC, themselves and others doing the Spark+ challenges as well. The challenges are designed to be all levels of difficulty both stretching your resolve and encouraging you with "easy" wins.
D. REPORT YOUR ACHIEVEMENTS
When a challenge is completed, you'll report your achievement through our new Spark+ app. Currently open challenges are listed in the app and can quickly be marked complete. (There's a built-in grace-period for reporting.) Make sure to turn on reminders so you never miss a challenge.
E. GET REWARDED
For each completed challenge, you'll earn points that you can redeem for cool stuff (fitness gear, virtual/traditional race entries, gift cards, etc.)!

Run (or walk/hike/bike/swim) somewhere completely new
Keep a weekly exercise diary. Do at least 6 trail runs (1 mile or longer) and run an average of at least 30 miles each month.
Run at least 30 miles (total) this month. Additionally, each time you work out, take at least 1 minute to "reset" by quietly contemplating your goals and things that are going well in your life.
Run* 1 mile each day this week
Foam-roll at least your calves and IT bands (outer thighs) 3 times.
*NOTE: "Run" means "get out and move". It could mean walk, hike, bike, swim, etc. Do what works for you.
Points for each challenge will vary but generally they'll look similar to this:

How will I know what each challenge is?
You'll need to install the Spark+ app on your Android or iPhone. Once you've done that, just sign in and you'll see a list of available challenges.
How do I report that I've completed each challenge?
To report your challenge complete:
- launch the iPhone or Android app on your phone
- find the challenge
- open it
- mark it complete
How do I prove that I accomplished the challenge?
We use the honor system to verify your accomplishments, so if you say you did it, we have no reason to believe otherwise.

Why is it called Spark+?
These challenges are intended to provide the spark of inspiration and motivation you need to keep moving toward your fitness goals.
How do I redeem my points?
To redeem points you've earned for rewards:
- launch the Android or iPhone app
- tap "Rewards"
- choose a reward that looks interesting to you and tap on it
- look for the "redeem" button to claim your reward
